Exeter College Tour

We are also inviting Friends to join a tour of Exeter College, Oxford on Monday 13th July, 3pm. We will be guided by Dr John Maddicott an Emeritus Fellow of the college and formerly Fellow and Tutor of medieval history & author of Founders and Fellowship: The Early History of Exeter College. We will learn something of its history (and its relationship with Kidlington), its garden (laid out in the 14th century); its pictures which include some early Italian paintings, a Gainsborough and a Mark Gertier as well as seeing some of the ‘relics’ associated with William Morris, a former member. We will also have the opportunity to visit the beautifully transformed old Library which a few of us saw during the Friends event in June 2024. To round off our visit we will have tea in the Senior Common Room when we hope to meet the new Rector of the College, Dr Andrew Roe.

Booking details will be available shortly – we think 15 will be the maximum for the group so please book early. First come first served….
