The Friends of St Mary’s has been formed to help:
- Maintain this beautiful, useful and important building, so we can all use it and enjoy it even more.
- Improve the facilities for even more extensive community use.
- Organise more events to make the most of this exciting and inspiring structure. It is one of the largest and most flexible indoor spaces in Kidlington.
The Friends of St Mary’s raises funds through membership and special events. We want as many people as possible to enjoy this amazing space.
After several winters of dangerous darkness it is wonderful that The Friends were able to pay for the new lighting in 2025. Joanna writes, “Our new lights are glowing. Our Membership is growing and the dripping from the roof is alas also doing that.” Now we can safely use the church through the winter. Thankyou.
The PCC’s priorities are to make the building water-tight, safe, and accessible. Mending the roof remains an expensive priority. Levelling the dangerous floors, removing the steps in the porch, and renovating the N Transept follow. We have to do these things before the many other things that we might like to do.
