Autumn Speaker Series

We again have three inspiring speakers for our Autumn Talks, 2025

Revd Canon Professor William Whyte is a Fellow of St John’s College, Oxford and an architectural historian, specialising in churches and universities. He will give us one of his lively and fascinating talks – this time on St Mary’s – its 800 year old history and other local buildings of architectural  and historical interest – “St Mary’s – Kidlington’s greatest treasure. “. This will be at 6pm on Saturday 4th October.

Our second event celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of John Constable – at 6pm on Saturday 1st November – Entirely and forever yours“. James Hamilton, author of the acclaimed biography “Constable – A Portrait” will present to us the passionate correspondence between John and Maria Constable, assisted by Katharine Eustace and Shirley Steventon, with Philip Towler on the organ.

Our third speaker will be Oli Steadman on Saturday 29th November. Oli is a British-South African multi-instrumentalist, and one of the founding members of the indie-folk band Stornoway. He is also a volunteer with many nature conservation trusts.

For each event tickets will be available:
